Bathrooms are small rooms with a lot going on: plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile, stone and glass, all meeting in a few square feet. That is why a bathroom remodel goes wrong more often than any other room, and why we run ours as a design/build project. Our in-house design team draws the room, you choose every vanity, tile and fixture in our showroom on the Black Horse Pike in Pleasantville, and our own crews build it under one schedule and one contract.

Second homes at the shore, primary homes on the mainland
Half of our bathroom work is on Absecon Island and down the Cape May County shore, in houses that are second homes or rentals. Original shore cottages in Longport and the fifties ranches of Brigantine often have one hall bath that has served a big summer household for decades, and the newer raised homes have the square footage but builder-grade finishes. Those owners want a primary bath worth the address, a guest bath that holds up to a hard summer of use, and a project that runs through the off-season so the house is ready by Memorial Day.
The other half is mainland primary homes: colonials and splits from the seventies through the two thousands in Egg Harbor Township, Galloway, Linwood, Northfield and Somers Point, where the bath still has its plastic shower pan, a thin vanity and a fan that never clears the mirror. The fix there is the same real materials, usually inside the existing layout, so it moves faster than people expect.
The Process
How a design/build bathroom remodel works
Every bathroom remodel starts with an in-home visit, where we measure, check the plumbing routes and look at what the walls and floor are hiding. From there our in-house designers draw the layout: the vanity run, the shower, the tub if there is one, lighting and storage. Then you come to the showroom and choose the real thing, vanities, stone tops, tile, glass, fixtures and hardware, with a designer beside you.
Only after the design and selections are final do we write the fixed quote. We prepare and manage the permit application with your town's construction office, order every material before demolition, and one crew runs plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile, glass and paint on a single schedule. Our design/build process is the same whether the project is one bath, a kitchen remodel or a whole-home renovation.

Bathroom Remodeling in Atlantic County
Atlantic County bathroom work splits between the island and the mainland. On Absecon Island we rebuild baths in Margate beach-block colonials and condo stacks, the early-century foursquares of Ventnor, Longport shore cottages and newer custom homes, and the fifties ranches and duplexes of Brigantine, where a duplex often gets both baths done on one schedule with matching finishes. On the mainland the work is the boom-era colonial in Egg Harbor Township, Galloway, Hamilton Township and Absecon, and the ranches and splits of Linwood, Northfield and Somers Point. Permits run through each town's construction office under the state Uniform Construction Code, and on the island we check the flood status of the property during design.

Cape May County bathrooms are mostly second homes, rentals and inns, and the houses are a different mix: Victorians and painted ladies in Cape May that need a modern bath inside a historically sensitive envelope, with plaster and original millwork respected; the raised shore homes of Avalon and Stone Harbor; the capes and duplexes of Ocean City, Sea Isle City and the Wildwoods; and year-round homes in Upper Township and Middle Township. Most of it runs on the off-season calendar, fall through spring, with photo updates for owners who are not there. Vanities, stone, tile and fixtures from our showroom
Everything in your bathroom comes from the showroom, so you choose it in your hands rather than from a catalog. Vanities and bathroom cabinetry come through our partners at Cabinets Direct Wholesalers, including custom vanities built to the room. Marble, quartz and granite tops come through Rye Marble & Granite in the same building, templated to the vanity after it is set.
Porcelain tile carries the floors and wet walls, with mosaic accent bands, vertical tile walls and wood look tile where the design calls for it. Showers get frameless glass. Tubs are freestanding or built in under a window. Floors can carry electric radiant heat under the tile. Timeline
How long a bathroom remodel takes, and what changes it
Most bathroom remodels run two to six weeks of construction once the design is final and the materials are in. A hall bath rebuilt inside its existing layout sits at the short end. Moving the plumbing, adding a bathroom where there is not one now, opening a wall for a larger shower, heated floors and complex tile work each add days. Custom vanities and stone have lead times, which is why we order everything before demolition so the room is never torn up and waiting.
Two things outside the room change the calendar most: a shore house that has to be finished between Labor Day and Memorial Day, and a condo association or historic review package that has to be approved before we start. You get the schedule in writing with the quote.

Can you build a true spa bathroom?

Do you remodel bathrooms in shore rentals and condos?
Yes. Rentals run on the off-season calendar so no booked week is missed, with porcelain tile, quartz tops and vanities chosen for a hard summer of use. Condo baths work within the building's fixed plumbing stacks, and we prepare the association package as part of the job.
Will my hall bath and primary bath match?
